கடந்த மே 23 ஆம் தேதி மதுரை மாவட்டம் நிக்கப்பட்ட முன்னாள் உசிலம்பட்டி திமுக முக்கிய நிர்வாகிகள் இல்லத்திற்கு சென்ற மதுரை புற நகர் வடக்கு மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் பத்திரப்பதிவு துறை அமைச்சர் பி மூர்த்தி அவர்கள் மண மக்களை வாழ்த்தி விருந்து சாப்பிட்டு சென்றுள்ளார்.
நடந்து முடிந்த உசிலம்பட்டி நகராட்சி தேர்தலில் தலைமை அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நகராட்சி தலைவர் பதவிக்கு 10 வது வார்டில் நின்று வெற்றி பெற்ற செல்வி அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக செயல்பட்டு 11 வது வார்டில் திமுக சார்பாக நின்று வெற்றி பெற்ற சகுந்தலா அவர்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக வாக்களித்து உசிலம்பட்டி நகரத் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்.
